MJ and Clinton Wivell are the main thrust behind Enterprise Lean Agile coaching at BTI360. We both have similar backgrounds and similar passions. While we may disagree from time to time who has a better golf game, we both enjoy the challenge of enterprise change initiatives.
Government
We have been solely focused on serving government clients for over 10 years. Our clients have unique challenges that commercial entities often don’t face. We specialize in meeting enterprise Lean Agile transformations within the unique constraints our government clients face.
Our Journey
We grew up in the small Civil War town of Gettysburg Pennsylvania. So you may be wondering how two guys from the country ended up in Washington DC, helping large government projects deliver using Enterprise Lean Agile techniques?
In large part we have our parents to thank for where we are today. Our father was the first to graduate from college from his family and over time he worked his way off the farm and eventually into IT. Quite a transition! Due to our dad’s success, they strongly encouraged both of us to pursue Computer Science degrees.
Lean Agile
We both began our careers as software engineers building mission critical applications for the federal government. As we matured as developers, we both found ourselves leading software projects using Lean Agile methods to manage work.
We started using Agile methods to iteratively deliver increments of value. In early 2009 we began experimenting with Lean software practices which eventually led us to augment our scrum teams with properties from the Kanban method. Lean allowed us to begin to expose enterprise issues that helped mature and optimize the whole organization.
These experiences significantly influenced our Lean Agile approach to software development. We believe that by implementing the right blend of Lean Agile practices along with technical practices, large organizations can drive business business value with Agility!
